Rachel Brooke Readies New Album “This One’s For You”

Few women in country music have racked up as much street cred as Michigan’s Rachel Brooke. And few bring as much pain and real-world weariness behind their words and voices as Rachel.

“It’s a record that tells stories and ask questions, circling the world, the self, and what’s worth holding onto, and what’s worth letting go. I poke fun everything, including myself, and truly enjoyed every moment creating this record,” Brooke says. You can hear this in the album’s lead single “I Chose Poorly” (listen below). The album also comes after a time where Brooke took an extended hiatus from music and social media, going through a period she describes as an “ego death and crippling internal despair,” but assures, “I sure had a great time writing these songs.” Brooke continues, “Honestly, It’s been a whirlwind these last few years. And with everything going on in the world Ive often wondered what’s the point? I don’t know how else to say it, But this record saved me and I cannot wait to share it all with you.”The One’s For You is now available for pre-save. TRACK LIST: 1. I Chose Poorly2. Man, I can’t wait for this one. I get everything I can from her. She has a rich and diverse songbook. Her man Brook Robbins has a cool voice too, if you can get a copy of their record Junk from Secret Records, you’ll definitely like it. I’d love to see a third volume of duets of her with Lonesome Wyatt someday too.
